Adopting the same strategy used with the 195, first released in the Sport version, then road-going, after the release of the 212 Export competition, Ferrari presented the 212 Inter road at the 1951 Paris Motor Show. The 212 Inter it was equipped with a 2562cc V12 engine and was produced in both cabriolet and berlinetta versions. The commercial success of the 212 Inter was also driven by the success of the 212 Vignale coupés at the 1951 Carrera Panamericana. The most famous coachbuilders grappled with the 212, from Ghia to Touring to Pininfarina which was about to start a long and unparalleled collaboration with the manufacturer.
